Hello, and welcome to my print shop! I’m John, the artist behind this work, and I want to be as clear and upfront as possible about how my shop works. This page explains the terms of service for buying prints from my store at shop.johnstoyles.com. My goal is to keep things simple, honest, and friendly—while making sure we both understand how the process works.
• All of the artwork in my shop is sold as prints of my original paintings. I don’t sell original paintings here.
• Every print is made to order—nothing is mass-produced or pulled from a warehouse shelf. When you place an order, a fresh piece is crafted just for you.
• Orders are processed through Big Cartel and securely handled by Stripe. Stripe accepts all major card payments (and their supported methods like Apple Pay).
• An order is considered “confirmed” only once payment has cleared.
• Because each print is custom-made, orders are final at the time of purchase and can’t be changed or cancelled once production begins.
• Prints are handmade by myself or by my trusted print supplier, and the process typically takes up to 10 days.
• From order to delivery, you can usually expect 2–3 weeks total.
• Orders are currently shipped within the U.S. only.
• Shipping carriers may vary (typically UPS, USPS, FedEx, or others).
• Tracking numbers aren’t sent automatically, but if you’d like an update, just contact me and I’ll follow up with the supplier/carrier on your behalf.
• Because each print is custom-made for you, I generally cannot accept returns or refunds once an order is placed. That said, I want you to be happy with your art. Here’s how I handle things:
• If I make a mistake (wrong item, wrong size, etc.), I’ll make it right.
• If your order is damaged in shipping, please:
- Take photos of the unopened package before opening it.
- Contact me within 10 days of receiving it, and I’ll work with you to resolve the issue.
• Customer handling: Prints are delicate. Please take great care when opening and framing them. I can’t accept responsibility for damage caused after delivery (such as fingerprints, scratches, or water damage).
• Refunds (case by case): If a refund is possible, it requires you to return the print in its original condition, packaged securely. You’ll be responsible for return shipping. Once received and inspected, I’ll confirm whether a refund can be issued.
In short: prints are made just for you, so please order carefully. But if something’s wrong, reach out—I’ll do my best to make it right.
• All prices shown in my shop include sales tax.
• I don’t run discounts, promotions, or sales—what you see is the final price.
• Buying a print does not mean you own the copyright. All rights remain with me, the artist.
• Prints are for personal enjoyment only. They cannot be copied, scanned, reproduced, resold, or used in digital or AI systems.
• If you’re interested in distributing my work, please contact me directly.
I do my best to get your artwork to you smoothly and on time. But sometimes delays happen (e.g., shipping company issues, supply delays, weather, etc.). I can’t take responsibility for things outside my control, though I’ll always do what I can to help resolve issues.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, USA.
If you have any questions about your order, or if something’s not right, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll respond personally and do my best to sort things out in a fair and timely way.
From me to you: Thank you for supporting my art. Every print made and sent out means a lot to me, and I truly want you to enjoy it for years to come.
